USAID is assisting the municipalities of Lantawan and Maluso in Basilan province under the EQuALLS2 Project.
In Lantawan, USAID supported 25 Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs). It also trained 74 school administrators—three in Science, 61 in Training ++, and 10 in mentors’ assemblies—and 173 teachers—20 in Science, 107 in Training ++, and 46 in mentors’ assemblies. A total of 118 out-of-school children and youth (OSCY) enrolled in basic education programs and 79 out-of-school youth (OSY) participated in workforce development (WFD) programs—35 in Garments Making, 25 in Information and Communications Technology (ICT), and 19 in Construction.
In Maluso, USAID refurbished one Community Learning Center (CLC) and supported 14 PTAs. It also trained 44 school administrators—six in Science, 32 in Training ++, and six in mentors’ assemblies—and 225 teachers—35 in Science, 140 in Training ++, and 50 in mentors’ assemblies. A total of 648 OSCY enrolled in basic education and 56 OSY participated in WFD programs—35 in Baking and 21 in Welding.
The International Youth Foundation / Education Livelihood and Skills Alliance (IYF/ELSA) is implementing USAID’s EQuALLS2 Project in Basilan.
USAID is assisting Marawi City and the municipalities of Ganassi and Kapatagan in Lanao del Sur province under the EQuALLS2 Project.
In Marawi City, USAID refurbished six CLCs and supported 14 PTAs. It also trained three school administrators and 14 teachers in Science. A total of 124 OSY participated in WFD programs—50 in Construction, 26 in Garments Making, 24 in Driving, and 24 in Hairdressing.
In Ganassi, USAID supported 23 PTAs. It also trained five school administrators and 27 teachers in Science.
In Kapatagan, USAID supported eight PTAs. It also trained two teachers in Science. A total of 133 OSY participated in WFD programs—29 in Building Wiring Installation, 29 in Food Processing, 25 in Baking, 25 in Carpentry, and 25 in Small Engine Servicing.
The Synergeia Foundation is implementing USAID’s EQuALLS2 Project in Lanao del Sur.

In Datu Piang, USAID refurbished six classrooms. It also trained 47 school administrators—10 in Science, three in Math, 28 in Materials Development, and six in Education in Emergencies (EiE)—and 314 teachers—69 in Science, nine in Math, 198 in Materials Development, 37 in EIE, and one in management. A total of 181 OSCY enrolled in basic education programs and 223 OSY participated in WFD programs—74 in Driving, 59 in Footwear & Leather Goods Making, 30 in Baking & Pastries Making, 30 in Beauty Care Services, and 30 in Construction.
In Datu Saudi Uy Ampatuan, USAID refurbished four classrooms and supported 11 PTAs. It also trained 30 school administrators—nine in Science, one in Math, 14 in Materials Development, one in EIE, and five in Management—and 336 teachers—109 in Science, 10 in Math, 166 in Materials Development, 40 in EIE, and 11 in Management. A total of 242 OSCY enrolled in basic education programs and 165 OSY participated in WFD programs—30 in Bag Making, 30 in Baking & Pastries Making, 30 in Beauty Care, 25 in Construction Painting, 25 in Driving with Preventive Maintenance, and 25 in Masonry.
In Mamasapano, USAID refurbished three classrooms and supported six PTAs. It also trained 25 administrators—eight in Math, 14 in Materials Development, and three in EIE—and 296 teachers—eight in Science, 89 in Math, 166 in Materials Development, and 33 in EIE. A total of 203 OSCY enrolled in basic education programs and 218 OSY participated in WFD programs—60 in Construction, 50 in Automotive Servicing, 30 in Bag Making, 30 in Footwear/Slippers Making, 25 in Driving with Preventive Maintenance, and 23 in Trainers’/Assessors’ Methodology.
In Paglat, USAID refurbished six CLCs and supported six PTAs. It also trained five teachers in Science.
In Upi, USAID supported 31 PTAs. It also trained four school administrators in Science and 20 teachers—19 in Science and one in ICT.

In Siasi, USAID refurbished 12 CLCs and supported 30 PTAs. It also trained 40 school administrators—six in Science, four in Math, and 30 in Management—and 531 teachers—261 in Science, 267 in Math, two in Management, and one Instructional Manager in Basic Literacy.
In Talipao, USAID supported 10 PTAs. It also trained one school administrator in Math and 24 teachers—five in English, one in Math, and 18 in Materials Development—and 206 teachers—31 in English, two in Science, 19 in Math, and 154 in Materials Development. A total of 179 OSCY enrolled in basic education programs and 441 OSY participated in WFD programs—178 in Silkscreen Printing, 120 in Horticulture, 55 in Baking & Pastries Making, 30 in Bag Making, 30 in Fruit Processing, and 28 in Vegetable Processing.

In Panglima Sugala, USAID refurbished five CLCs and supported 14 PTAs. It also trained 36 school administrators—two in Science, 17 in Training++, eight in Management, and nine in mentors’ assemblies—and 83 teachers—three in English, 24 in Science, 12 in Math, 15 in Training++, and 29 in mentors’ assemblies. A total of 591 OSCY enrolled in basic education programs.

In this city, USAID supported 13 PTAs. It also trained 12 school administrators—six in Materials Development and six in Management—and 526 teachers—three in English, seven in Science, 506 in Materials Development, and 10 in Management. A total of 90 OSCY enrolled in basic education programs and 413 OSY participated in WFD programs—176 in Baking & Pastries Making, 125 in Silkscreen Printing, 64 in Fruit & Meat Processing, and 48 in Computer Hardware Servicing.

In this city, USAID supported 18 PTAs.
