EQuALLS2 helps Mindanao madrasahs adopt the National Standard Curriculum

USAID Equipped Mindanao Schools with Electricity and Education Materials

USAID projects worked together to enhance basic education in remote, conflict-affected villages in Mindanao. The Education Quality and Access for Learning and Livelihood Skills (EQuALLS2) Project expanded the benefits of the electrification with solar energy, provided by the Alliance for Mindanao Off-grid Renewable Energy (AMORE) Program, of three public elementary schools in three villages in Maguindanao province. EQuALLS2 provided the schools with audio books, cassette players, and supplementary reference materials on July 28-29, 2009.

USAID Welcomed Wife of U.S. Senator Bill Nelson to Education Activities in Zamboanga

USAID presented its book center and a basic education class for out-of-school youth in Zamboanga City to Mrs. Grace Nelson, the wife of U.S. Senator Bill Nelson of Florida, on August 18, 2009. Mrs. Nelson was accompanied by USAID/Philippines Deputy Mission Director Elzadia Washington and Major Tyler Wilson of the Joint Special Operations Task Force (JSOTF) - Philippines. Mrs. Nelson was pleased to know that

USAID Built 5 Community Learning Centers for Out-of-School Youth in Sulu

USAID constructed and refurbished five Community Learning Centers (CLCs) that serve as venues for basic education programs for OSYs in Siasi, Sulu.

USAID Equipped 104 ARMM Teachers with Technology Skills and Computers

EQuALLS2 equipped 104 elementary school teachers and administrators in conflict-affected Datu Paglas town in Maguindanao province with basic computer skills and 16 computer sets.
