EQuALLS2 supports DepED's Drug Abuse Prevention Education Program for Mindanao schools

The USAID-funded EQuALLS2 Project launched on July 15, 2010 its support for the Philippine Department of Education's National Drug Education Program with a Drug Abuse Prevention Education Training for 100 school principals, teachers, guidance counselors, and health personnel from EQuALLS2-supported schools in Mindanao from July 15 to 17, 2010 at the Bay Plaza Hotel in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur.

USAID Trains 50 Mindanao Science Teachers to Create Local Science Equipment

USAID trained 50 Basilan and Tawi-Tawi elementary school science teachers on July 3-7, 2010 to create and assemble low-cost science equipment, using local materials for use in classroom experiments, as part of its commitment to increase access to quality education in areas most affected by conflict and poverty in Mindanao.

USAID Gives 42 Scholarships to Mindanao Out-of-School Youth for Education and Training

On July 2, 2010, USAID signed a Memorandum of Agreement with nine institutions of higher learning in Central Mindanao and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Provincial Office of Lanao del Sur and Marawi City for the delivery of one of college/university education or skills training for 42 Mindanao out-of-school youth (OSY), under the scholarship program of USAID's Education Quality and Access for Learning and Livelihood Skills (EQuALLS2) Project.
