EQuALLS2 held a roundtable discussion with education stakeholders in Zamboanga City on the Key Elements of Successful Workforce Development Programs on August 16, 2010.
The key elements were identified from an innovative video research study by EQuALLS2 on what elements of its workforce development (WFD) programs for out-of-school youth (OSY) were instrumental in the youth's success in finding jobs.
The study was conducted among the project-supported OSY WFD program learners in Zamboanga City and in the municipalities of Alicia in Zamboanga Sibugay province and Dinas in Zamboanga del Sur province.
The other study respondents were community government officials; parents; representatives from the Philippines' Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and Department of Education in Zamboanga City, Alicia, and Dinas; and EQuALLS2's lead implementing partner for the Zamboanga Peninsula, Save the Children.
The insights that surfaced from the roundtable discussion (as those shown in the photo) will be incorporated into the study's final written and video reports for sharing with the wider body of OSY WFD program policymakers, implementers, and other stakeholders.
