Extreme poverty and conflict in many Mindanao communities have resulted in a large number of children and youth dropping out of school.
To assist these youth, the EQuALLS2 Project has offered livelihood skills training to more than 39,000 out-of-school youth (OSY) from 2006 to 2011.
On October 11, 2011, the last batch of 206 EQuALLS2-trained OSY completed their courses in high-demand rubber technology; plant propagation; and fish processing, preservation, and marketing, which enables them to have alternative livelihood opportunities.
