USAID constructed and refurbished five Community Learning Centers (CLCs) that serve as venues for basic education programs for OSYs in Siasi, Sulu.
The CLCs were recently completed with funds from USAID’s Education Quality and Access for Learning and Livelihood Skills (EQuALLS2) Project and local government units. OSYs in Sulu will now have access to non-formal education programs to assist them in transitioning back into formal education, earning a high school equivalency, and participating in employment and livelihood skills training courses under EQuALLS2. USAID will refurbish 400 CLCs in Mindanao by 2011.
